VEL Calendar

CSI is a hands-on event enabling young people to try activities from a range of professions in order to gain an understanding of what that occupation could involve.

CSI 2009 will be held at the Derwent Entertainment Centre on Fri 3rd - Sat 4th April and will run alongside the National Careers and Employment Expo. Please see the attached flyer for more information.

The purpose of Career Specialist Investigation, aka CSI is to give high school and pre-tertiary students the opportunity to experience real, hands-on concepts and activities involved in professional or para-professional career, mostly needing a university degree to enter.

 

There will be approximately 10 booths, each of which will be designated to a particular industry.  Skilled specialists will engage in activities with the studetns and will provide information about the industry and where to study it. Industries include Engineering, Exercise Science,
Orthotics/Prosthetics and Fashion.

 

Most booths will have 30 minute sessions running throughout the day.  Students must register their session time upon arrival to the Expo to ensure participation.
