Distance Education Tasmania (DET) offers families registered with the Tasmanian Home Education Advisory Council (THEAC), access to a variety of resources for a home education program.

The DET Resource Centre is located in Hobart and families can reserve materials from home, Online Access Centres and State Library branches by placing a ‘hold’ through DET’s TALIS catalogue. Items will then be posted to families.

DET will lend up to 20 items per student for a period of six weeks.

Although there is no fee charged for the service, a charge of $130 for each student is payable which includes a refundable resource deposit of $80 and an annual postage and packaging fee of $50.

All users of this service must be registered with Tasmanian Home Educators Council (THEAC).
